Eternal Slumber

By Salum

Eternal slumber.
So peaceful, and so quiet.
If only we could simply buy it.
But alas, it has no price.
It takes years of sacrifice.
Many more years than one can fathom.
I have heard…
Whispers of this slumber…
After your life is done, a new task begins.
The choice is yours to make.
On what path you will take.
Millions of years will pass…
Before the end of your new task.
Then yet another new existence will come.
So many millions of years…
So many new tasks…
New tasks to serve the universe…
Billions, maybe trillions of years will pass…
Before the time will come at last.
When we get to sleep forever…
In the peaceful, quiet eternal slumber…
