Yes and No

By Overactive Insomniac

Have you ever really wondered?
Have you ever really cared?
About the rhythm of my heart
Our the trauma it has bared

Have you looked into your soul?
Have you seen inside yourself?
Can you ever understand this hurt?
Without suffering it yourself

Have you ever felt the pure joy?
Have you ever wanted more?
To be the kind of person
That can make someone's heart soar

You are the kind to wonder
You are the one who cares
About my thawing heartbeat
And know it can repair

You have looked hard at your own soul
You have seen who you can be
You can feel the hurt from all around
And the beauty just beneath

You have glimpsed the warmth of caring
You have never wanted more
Than to be the kind of person
To make your own heart soar
