Silent Bird Calls

By LostInTime

In the whirlwind of time
We warble silent bird calls
And forgive ourselves for our pedestrian dreams

We talk of the falsehood of Gods
Of lips mouthing forgotten prayers
To equally forgotten saints

We congregate in groups of empty minds
And crowds of conformance
Afraid to be alone

Ancient visions of crawling from the water
And learning to walk but yearning to fly
Have become only echoes.

Old ideas are briefly but new memories
And new memories are forgotten facts
As we lose the deities of our past

  • A former member wrote: This is a wonderful writing. "And learning to walk but yearning to fly" The opening and closing stanzas are especially bright. Pavel
