Fortune Cookie 5/2009

By Scarrzz

My fortune cookie said, " You will take a chance on something
in the near future."

Thank you Confuscious/Sherlock -

Yes, I am a risk taker, but I have the bases covered. "Now I lay me down to sleep, I pray the Lord my soul to keep."

I mean, what's the worst that could happen?

If you said, " Die in your sleep" you totally missed the point.

I could stop here and be obtuse, but I prefer to spell it out. The most precious earthly resources we all have are time and free will. Wasting chances at living and not making the best choices possible might feel "safe" but that road only leads to a handful of memories and regrets.

The worst that could happen isn't that you die, it is that you never fully live.

What is worth your life?

What is your life worth?

Take a chance.

Spend it well. You only have one.

I'm thinking the worst that could happen would be that someone you loved were taken from you, and that someone still loved you, too, and the abductors dug out that person's eyes, and then slowly skinned him or her alive while violating every part of his or her body violently and relentlessly with a variety of objects, and then forcing him or her to stay alive while they slowly continue torturing in new and creatively distasteful ways... all the while you were forced to watch, and then after the loved one finally died, you suffered the same fate. That's the worst thing that could happen, I think. But I do like the sentiment here... death is no big deal, and dying in sleep, well, that's just a nice exit. To never have lived, that is tragedy. Nice write, I think I'll play the lotto tomorrow ;) hope all is well with you, mate.
