To dad.

By D3ADT0WN

I know you're never around dad,
But i don't really care.
I know you left mom,
For a reason i don't fear.
They don't appreciate the fact you still call,
And sent us gifts and toys.
I don't agree with them at all dad,
Maybe we are just stronger because we're boys.
You still come and visit us, and we go see you.
It does cost a lot of money,
To drive or fly a plane.
At least you put money into it like you do.
Things would be nicer if you were still around,
So you could raise your youngest son.
We could go places together,
And have a lot of fun.
No matter what i will always love you dad.
I know it's the same way for you.
You left when i was 3, It's not bad,
You shouldn't have to go through the things you go through.
When i am older and out on my own,
I'll have plenty of stories to tell my kids.
You will be able to talk to them on the phone,
And see how i raised my kids and such a good job i did.
When you get older, And pass away.
Every year on your birthday I will put flowers on your grave.
It's impossible for me to say everything that's on my mind,
But one day i promise i will find the time.
All i want to say is thank you dad,
You've been there for me from the start.
I love you a whole lot dad,
And thank you for doing your part.

this is beautiful. especially from a "broken home" stand point...i love how you love and appreciate him instead of just looking at the negative and feeling abandoned. you are truly lucky to have a dad that tries as best as he can :)

It's great to hear that a son loves his father so much, I hope when I have kids they feel like this. If I was your dad I'd be very touched by this I hope you show him.
