featherlessly flying-where the moon gave way

By sIo

under-meshed
undertaker milking
diamond fangs with
with a french kiss
lip lock
spitting death
out like mouthwash
and wiping your
lick away from hell
with your finger

branding everything
you touch with apathy
a bittersweet haze
gray angel of sight
pinning cupid's children
to iceskating rinks
with an archerous redress
connect the dots with
his artistic butterfly board
of why love hurts
when you show it.

ages, he's watched over
seen the stars fall in love
with the lightening bugs
as they catch the wind
and make fire fly
mother nature's shining light
the wishes close enough
to catch in your hands
always bright
an ever dashing foe
that rises with
night fall

venus had yet to be
so cruel till now
a lone burnt out star
sentenced for eternity
to cloak the skies dark
gray angel spread your
shroud of armor thin
this eve the stars
dare play hide and seek
at the foot of your throne

a devil's playground
by choice, the difference
stands only in the light
welcome price to play
flittering pistol targets
cocked and shot with
glance and blink
sprinkling that dear
goddess of love
with these mother stars
dead lights that bear
dying wishing
all sliding centerfold
expansion to her feet
reaching ankle bound
for the mouth shine
drowning her precious
pearls for life...

oh, the mess he's
made
waved away with
his signature style
clamping the jaws
of the barking bite

...to part the lips
of the ocean
skipping the muscleless
dollfaced, creature
to a life bound skyless
as her last breath
trickled up from posiedon's
smiling lips

arching his wings
to the canyon cracked shape
of a broken heart
stretched for miles
atop the quicksand ocean
within, his only boat to no where
a death row, as the water only
loves him when he comes
down from his high pirch
to sheathe the bare
dear from light's
exposure

the shine that once
he did adore
she looks his way
only to blind or remind
for shame he hurts
then
a true lunar angel
unable to prevent
his own reflection

thus a soul devotion
to this night.

angel of sight
you see all
but only look
to watch when
the shine may
turn your way

you look up
...always...
when you walk
your cycle down here
each beloved night

i pray you, listen
to the wind and
step softer with patience

my feathers are depleting
faster than the pulse
of my heart
a morning dove
wishing on the stars
of the twilight and dusk
that you'll notice the shine
in my feathers at your feet
or at least show mercy
and spare a star one night
i wish upon every single one.

undertaker, boy
you angel of gray
and floating moon
look once and you'll see
that as you take us all down
one lies breathing with hope
.
don't bury me alive.

I love how, as I read, you're words and metaphors seem to move from just words, to pictures, to sheer emotion in my minds eye. Write the hell on, forever.

Deliciously ambient and emphatically so, it certainly has the feeling of soaring through a menagerie of imagery - places one could only dream of going to. Phrases to die for in abundance.
