Estella

By Sky Singer

***author's note*** "Estella" refers to Dickinson's character in Great Expectations

i'd love to be Estella
just for a single day.
put me in a far off town
with 1000 suitors to guide my way.
my complexion fair as the lonely moon
and hair as black as the river styx,
with my siren's song, unlike any other,
i'd reel them in, completely transfixed.
this is what i'd live for --
to break thier hearts and have my fun,
and they'd mean nothing to me...
...all except for one...
