He looked through eyes of glass
And he said

Have you ever felt this worn before?

I’m walking on eggshells
With grace like tidal waves and hurricanes

Four girls watch from stained saint windows

(Well maybe not girls….more like women really, just drenched in youth)

And I wear this costume like a trophy
Plastic wrap skin
This cyber perfection stinging its way in

Walking under fluorescent headlights

So I looked through eyes of glass
And he said

It’s not the end until you’ve met your match
There’s something inside that still beats for flesh

I’ve been there before

A knockout standing in the door, 3:30am

Those steel eyes seduce my voice through ancient stories
Even tragedy bleeds beauty through that wicked melody

Four faces intent watching from the crooked corridor

Four girls fates glowing under merlot flames
Singing lust into tapestries
Fading threads into fiction

Believing every folding whisper

So I break through eyes of glass
And he says

You can’t fake your way out of the past

My trophy lie
Cyber-genetic routine tall tales scraping up to the skies

Amarone nights
Alone by the fire side.

I sweep up the splinters and lock the doors

Through the dead bolts and wood grain
I can still hear him calling my name

Every night it’s the same dream

Every day it’s the same disaster
Of tangled blue hair and canvas skin

But I can’t let them in.

I’ve dreamt this life before…

Very cool piece! "Well maybe not girls….more like women really, just drenched in youth" was an especially great line...love the notion of "drenched in youth". Ciao, T/S Scholar

One of my favourites from you, Baz. A lot of brilliant constructions and skilled manipulation, threaded through with imagination and passion.

This has to be up there as one of your best, Bazil. "Even tragedy bleeds melody through that wicked melody".."I sweep up the splinters and lock the doors".."tangled blue hair and canvas skin"...Just a few of the lines I adored.

"bleeds beauty" not melody!! I feel bad for misquoting. Ah, well, I might as well add another of my faves from this masterpiece.."Cyber-genetic routine tall tales scraping up to the skies"
