Sweet Mary

By Thorn

She dances on the rising wind
To walk among the clouds

On the wings of a butterfly
She flits
And floats
Among blossoming memories
And fruits of dreams

She makes a pass at what is
And flirts with what might be
She makes small talk with what could be
Then enters the cafe
For a date with what should be
Over coffee
Or perhaps a chai latte

She never rejects a familiar face
She'd love for you to take her home

You'll enjoy her company
She'll curl up inside your mind
Frolic among your dreams
And leave before you wake

She needs no explanation

Labels stick to her
Like tape to the surface of a river

You cannot fully understand her
She is far beyond comprehension

She is beautiful

She is
