A Portrait, The Way Zombies Lovers Embrace

By Bella Butchery

Your eyes are a milky dead ice
In such a dull light
That spark plutos jealousy
Through a cold frail night

I watched you dance
In a closed down cabaret….

I stumbled and fell
So I crawled instead
But you just smiled
A luring composition

Still your heart spits fire
Delicate butane
A faded neon blue to let
Varicose veins map finger trails
In a slow motion silent film

Black nails scrape your back
Peel away
Layers of snow flakes
In a calming heave
Arms detach
Split / separate
Between the sheets
To bleached skin
Wrapped into a decomposed kiss

Your dark hair setting the scene
Flowed a bleak anomaly
To which was my undoing

“Do you still think I am beautiful?”

“You have always been my life and my death.
More tragic then the frost bitten violet orchids we used to admire
Your gaze stops time, and sets my soul afire.”

Dancing in a closed down cabaret…

The haunt of your scent
I forgot in the pyre
Soil soaked memories
Are mixed with desire

Settle down
We lay in the dark

We lay restless

Our moment
Tore infinity
Lye coats the beats
That once bound our
pulse

Lay still
Just lay next to me
Just stay
Don’t go away

I wanted more of this romance that folds out before the eyes of the reader "Do you still think im beautiful" How many times did I ask of my love the same question but never once was I told "you have always been my life and my death" *heart drops in chest*

Could love be a made up myth could the goddess of love (Venus) truly have loved? Maybe love only comes once in a life time and once its gone thats it over and done no more love for you.. what a sad thing it can be to love. :(

Why must love be so complicated? When everything falls apart around you and your love and you are still standing yes its a beautiful thing but why in love do you have to endure test after test these days always having to prove your love to the other

This rocks. The format is excellent, the passion disturbing, abstract andyet direct; and several lines/couplets that I love but this one - "Still your heart spits fire / Delicate butane" - rules extra hard. *ovation*
