Caca de Maimutza

By TropicalSnowstorm

Gypsies are Roma now and
the Piltdown bones have turned into pigs,
but the Princess of Beius still likes to shake it to House
and I know that inside every grain of wheat lies the soul of a star.
I may have a dirty soul, but life is beautiful and so is she
even as heaven ignores my cries to strike me irresistible.
I’ve seen valleys and oceans, yet the largest expanse is the inches
of sofa between us as we watch a movie after the clubs close.
Placing my arm nonchalantly in this “no man’s” land
I hope to bridge the distance, but she never meets me halfway.

Maybe it’s because she is intimidated
by the presence of her friends,
it might be that she is inconveniently
good for someone so cool,
or maybe she just thinks I am full of shit…
but the only place our fingers touch is in my mind
as I try to will my aura to buy her aura another glass of wine.
Once again the would be conqueror becomes the conquered
as I walk her home and a kiss on the cheek
makes me feel like “the world is mine.”

This is absolutely fantastic. I am greatly disappointed in myself for never having read it before today. The world is a better place for having this masterpiece (and it's creator!) in it. :)
