Lizardkiss

By insideout

The sky froze over
Distant glimpses of yesterday have shamed this place
lost in a whirlwind of societal madness
I struggle to open my eyes
and once there was a savior...

where are you now?

Wind screams through my hair
telling me tomorrow isn't so distant
I whisper to God
yesterday is still too near

Time mends everything. I often felt lost and longing for time go by fast, and other times I have seen people pray for yesterday

  • A former member wrote: "yesterday is still too near" I like the feel of this poem, the subtle lizardkiss: the societal mad struggles, the wind & whispers... nicely done.
