Crossworlds

By asailorsangel

They set out on a journey and
As the light began to fade
And the shadows darkened they
Found themselves traveling in
Different directions

In all the years he has never
Followed her light, she just wanted to
Show him the beautiful side of her
Imagination……

“Where are you going? Don’t
Leave me….”she faintly whispered….

He is lost in a world dark and cold
His mind wondering through
The caverns of his echoing hurt and
Empty sorrow

The darkness is reaching up
And swallowing him
He takes unsteady baby steps
Across the rope bridge he built

It violently swings from side to side
Below it is painful memories of
The past and apprehensive thoughts
Of the future

The darkness has
Now consumed his mind
And he is cornered
By the emptiness inside

A voice travels across
The whipping winds of guilt

“Just let it go she says, I am here
Now and forever”

Fighting the beast inside
He has gone to that place in
His mind that he hides from and
This time there is no escape

Immersed in sinfulness
Face to face with your true self
You fight your way out

A voice travels across
The whipping winds of guilt

“Just let it go she says, I am here
Now and forever”
