Twelve Ways of Looking At Love

By Mischevious Princess

I.
In a backyard
where the autumn leaves fall,
a father and his young son
rake the leaves and bond.

II.
On a park bench
there sits a young couple
so in tune with one another
whispering sweet nothings.

III.
In school..
Walking down the hallways
talking intensely are
two best friends,
hand in hand.

IV.
In the dark of the night
a boy sneeks to her window
throws a rock..
just to see her smile.

V.
In the lobby of a fine restaurant
an elderly man takes
his wife's coat gently.
Then guides her to her seat with care.

VI.
The first time she stepped foot
in that pound,
She saw a cute German Shepard,
and adopted it on the spot.

VII.
Locked in her room
stereo blaring.
She was stressed out,
but everything got better
once the music started playing.

VIII.
A young woman stands on the corner
all by herself..
She is waiting for someone
who will never show....

IX.
Standing before her,
wanting to tell her how he feels,
he strolls up quietly only
for her to tell him...
It's over.

X.
With dismay on her face
a mother stands watching
her children like a hawk..
Guarding from strangers.

XI.
A wounded young man
lay awake in his hospital bed
his gentle hearted girl sitting
at the foot, crying...

XII.
A baby rests it head
gently on the puppy.
Just like a pillow,
The picture is serene.

  • A former member wrote: wow. i clicked on this expecting something cheesy, but instead i got a whimsical, witty yet lovely portrayal of the many ways that one can love, and how one can love. this was very unique and with a flourishing touch. marvelous.
