*the drugs
may have pushed me over the edge
but by that time
i was begging for death

escape proved to be futile
and besides
i would never settle for running
just to live barely breathing

i raged
at the wall coming down on me
i acted
in response to your action

my destruction
will never be undone,
it will simply be, forever.

a blanket of scars wrapped
around a beautiful moon

a God sent secret
seen only with patience in mind
and compassion in heart

this will be
my late warning
to those who play the people as pawns

these roman games are coming
to an end

even though you won't know it
until it's too late, i promise.

.
..
.
.

i, the host
have already taken the stage

you, the disorderly mob,
do you really think you are chasing me
just because i am running toward the door...?

(laugh)

i told you
no escape.

(doors lock)

no witnesses
no crime.

damn.. this read so matter of fact, strong and exacting.. not raging or loud but purposeful and 'this is how it is'... the second section reached out and struck me so intensely...

you always make me stop and slow down, think and read carefully and the emotions just breaks so gently against the shore...

we might just be relating it the same way, Ship.

  • A former member wrote: I believe I've done myself an injustice (as well as you, mayhaps) by not indulging more in your words.. this poetry is very much alive. I've pored over this countless times and my nerves are still on end..

  • A former member wrote: ..electric, heavyhitting.. exceptionally well written. The fullthrottleimpact left me stumbling over my self. I am sorry to hear this is your last post, if it is, indeed.
