under the obsidian sky (repost)

By whisperer

watching

.

and waiting
it's this place and the hating
thumbing through pages on my way to the great divide
dressed in the morning black
and back tracked to the world built inside
it's a judgment to never relent
until the unborn child finds its way to life then all the time
once free
is spent on love of fire and the sword
there's no more face
no more places no taste for the simple things
all that's left are the simple little lies
now is this any kind of life
puttin yourself under the knife while others submit themselves to the tainted light
when the demons request the novelty of self slaughter through peace
until you reach for hell offering your body up for sale
but denial only scores you to the core and these scars only open up DEEPER THAN BEFORE
if i could pretend that this obsidian sky was just another part of the shell i put myself into then perhaps
i could watch my reflection fall away when you hold me with your eyes
and i cannot heal when your blood covers my lies as they enter into everyone elses lives
who am i
.
through your eyes

but this blackened glass settles over the present that has always been my shattered past
and the dirty tears fall from my eyes
and it's all i can do to stand
.
