Lilith II

By Redemption

Note:Written this time with the glorious Lady_Lilith, this actual is the 3rd piece we collaborated on, and perhaps some of the first times a duo had written together on this site. We had a cool name to describe us as a pair. Empricism was the name. I remember it well.

The condemned forest
That time had forgotten
Cradle of one child
Damned in eternal beauty
Confounded by its gloom
She'd never live to feel...

Night had cast shadows
Upon the birch and Autumn leaves
The soil, damp with angelic tears
From a storm that passed and calmly retreated
The forest alive this night
Moved more than just Nature's agendas...

Silently he moved
Disturbed only by the calm surroundings
He was here to hunt
Sent by the church, and paid poorly
It was more than just money
What he wanted, was to slay this forbidden beauty
A menace that was the Devil's own...

He knew the tales
Of Her sickening terror
The few that survived
Such a bitter seduction
She, too, wandered these woods
Somewhere, prowling...

"Come, sweet wanderer, I'll command thy will
Come forth unto my dwellings and I'll make you see
Things no being witnessed before
And feel pains no heart has felt..."

In dusk he lurked and kissed his crucifix
The witch was calling him...
But he'd win Her malefic ways
For none should defeat his god's powers

The woods, they whispered...
He could hear their voices...
And his own breathing was silent in fear...
The night owls were standing still
Waiting for something...

Her eternal beauty was carven everywhere
Everything seduced him beyond any magic
And even the doves could not be trusted
For Lilith's ways were mean and wicked...

But his own steps led him to damnation
For him, alone, found Lilith's palace
And beheld its dark gothic beauty
While Lilith's spells began to work...

Her voice hit his brain in a whole (as She smiled).
Now his god's will was under Her spell...

Enchantment, such as he's never known
Nor exorcism he's seen in past times
This magick he's bewildered upon
Staring dully into Her eyes
Those pearls of sin, he was taught against...

"This feeling, how could I be?
This creature, Her just magnificence
It is clear now as I succumb deeper
Her grasp tightens round my ethereal mind
That I shall falter into Her wills..."

Seeming as he lost his senses
Watching the surroundings spin round in witchcraft
Plagues of Her control consumed him more
Hath his god forsaken him in this dark place?
Where no light dare touch
Deep within that forest... Lilith's cradle...

Looking forth at Her smile, facing Her eyes
Her lips moving, citing a deep spell
As he bow to one knee, turning his gaze to the ground
His defeat was near
Wishing to be free from Her web of desire
Where entangled only his death...

Dimming his eyes he could see only darkness
The instant light he could reach no longer

"God, forgive me for I hath failed
This creature was too much
For my mortal blood is weak
Blessed be..."

In the bitter shadows he could see the light brighten
As once more his eyes awaken
To see Her standing glamour laughing down

Spoke to him a voice afar
"Rise, you weak man
This is not your end for the dark is cunning
Rise, and seal this will...
Rise..."

With such haste his vigour return
He rose to grasp Her vile white neck
Taking Her to the ground, holding a drawn dagger
To Her heart as he kneel above
Peering into Her eyes with a violent malice...

"I ask you, demon...
Why should I let you breathe more Christ's air?"

"I do not breathe from the air you do - mortal...
I breathe from the hatred my heart confines
(Because of the pains your god has caused me)
And I do not fear nor blade nor man
After all I've seen since the Beginning"

He prayed aloud all his sacred words
And stepped back as if something pulled him
Lilith's voice was echoing inside him
And all his strength was vanishing again

"I admire your ignorance, wanderer
(You thought you could kill me with pray)
But all you've known is an interpretation
Of some old scroll written by liars
Who wished to rule over others' ignorance
And have an easy powerful life.
They deceived for years - I can understand
But now time has changed
(And still you believe!...)
And rule your lives over a mere interpretation
Of what could be an innocent essay...
You're seeking for salvation
In a book of old
Where human nature is nothing but sin
And everyone has to be slave
Of a god's will and wicked manners
Who only help those who pay for it...
I ask you... Why do you pray and beg?...
Is he not seeing you? Doesn't he know?
Why do you have to succumb humiliation
And pay for promises that destiny fulfilled
When he's the holder of all the bounty
And loves every man the same way?
Tell me now... How fair is your god
To close his eyes to wars and injustice
And welcome greed and the misuse of trust?
"Thou shalt not kill"...
And all I see is death on his behalf...
Did you not come here to kill me?...
Is this your religion?...
Ahaha, let me laugh
What you call blasphemy is nothing but the truth"

Her words poisoned his mind like venom
Slowly eating away, sickening him with diatribe
He could do nothing, but contemplate her speech
For in this realm, even his own mind she so invaded
Her will was omnipresent...

His crucifix did not shine so brightly as he once recalled
Its ethereal blessings seemed to fade away
And that steel once warm in the light
Had turned cold to the touch
He simply looked at the shield he so proudly wore
But the Liliths revelations plagued his mind still

She paced around him, torturing him with contempt

"Fool, can't you see?
That blade, and that cross
Do they belong hand in hand?
How does it feel to have voluntered to lies!
And in covenant you agreed to be a mere pawn
Slay in his holy name, sin under his own will."

Piercing him deeper, like a virus born
He realized more as it spread throughout both mind and body
What he was, his entire existence was contradictory
The cross he held, he let drop to the ground
And to his knees he fell staring up for some sign
Surely a savior would come, some salvation...

"Perhaps you seek angelic grace? Hahahah
I once was an angel as well, Am I what you seek mortal?"

She knelt beside him and put her hands on his shoulders
Chilling him with her ageless touch of cold oblivions

"Father has forsaken you, just as he had me
What I am is testament to your Gods will."

Realizing nothing would come, hope was lost to him
And indeed her venom surged within
Corrupting him fully, destroying his faith

"Your body and your being are mine now
Such foolishness brought you to me
And I let you live only as an example
If you would be gods slave so freely, if you'd obey unquestionably by your own fault
Than doing so, forcefully will be of no hinder to you
But feel at ease mortal,
No longer are you enslaved by hapless covenant
Rather so, you belong to me
And unlike prophesy and lores
I stand beside you both your damnation and salvation
What say you mortal? Have you not speech any longer?"

He looked up careless and blank
As if he lost concern with worldly matters

"Mistress, I heed you now,
And I shall follow where you lead
For mine will be done..."

And with a sinister grin
She paced away satisfied, laughing in the dark...

"Come then mortal slave
Eden needs tending..."
