By Liz

at 3 a.m.
my man
is still
with his bed sheets
at his box springs

i reflect
my resolve
to stay.

a pillow flies
across the room
as my man
he needs
just one.

“two pillows,”
he says
“are superfluous.”

i smile.
he says superfluous.
my man.

Man, this is bloody wonderful. Like a witty and personal diary entry with fantastic conversational tone. Richly deserved POTD.

But, seriously, when we conceive of the world in logical terms, are we not imposing a binary system on something that may defy logic, that may exhibit properties and possibilities that cannot be accounted for by reason, that cannot be expressed in language or logic? what is it that we love when we love logic... logocentrism... is that a perspective on the world that provides us security, safety, and confidence that we are in control, that we can discover the answers and that ultimately the world will make sense to us because we will cram it into our logical bed of crustaceans and discard all that does not fit under our preconceived and unforgiving systematic black/white, true/false, sound/unsound security blanket? Just a thought. The sentiment here is endearing, I just had to be difficult.
