Medication Rain

By suicidalsecrecy

Even though it is only chemical
The medication rain begins to fall
Take a moment to step back
Turn your eyes skyward and they turn black
Looking upward toward the entity
Leave behind all your uncertainty
Shake off the feeling of helplessness
Chemical change will be useless
Alone in this bleak world
You are the oyster
Dreams are your pearls
Close your eyes and shut them tight
Medication rain is falling all night

Even though it is only chemical
The brain will change and you will fall
Claw at the walls
Begin to climb out
Medication rain falls
Change the mind
Give in to the thread of dreams
Weaved into a web of beliefs
Heart is racing
Beating so fast
Lower your eyes or Death will come fast
Walk away from this time
Unraveled, unwoven, undone
Release the hold on the line
The web of beliefs has begun to unwind

Even though it is only chemical
Family and friends begin to call
Plug your ears and shut your eyes
Your eyes were turned black
You can’t see
Its no surprise
The pearls of dreams are melting away
Can you survive another day?
The web has turned from beliefs to deceit
As you continue to crawl out
And try to land on your feet

Even though it is only chemical
The rain continues to fall and fall
Stop trying to crawl
Out of the bog
You’ll never get out
You’re pushed down by the fog
Your brain is fogged up
And the medication rain falls
It’s only chemical
But you continue to claw at the walls
You’ll never leave
And get out alive
The chemical rain dance is too much for you to survive

What a beautiful metaphor. I like this because of its imagery and originality. Good stuff. :)
