Bed of You
By InsipidTouch
Someting was different about tonight's stroll. The wind was blowing
in a different direction. The old lady across the street wasn't sitting
on her bench anymore. Instead she watched me from inside her home. The
black cat whom I've named Mr. Thumper was no longer following me. The
leaves have changed. I have changed. Nobody can know this secret.
I walked further along my path and the flower I planted months ago still
stood strong through all these changes. This is something I do not understand.
It can not be! Everything goes through changes but why not this flower?
Sitting on the ground now I'm tempted just to pick it. Tear off each
individual petal. The colors are burning in my eyes. Red tipped petals
that turn to a blazing blue in the middle. Thorns cover the stem that
are as blask as freash ink spilled on your mother's new white carpet.
The Temptation is growing. I can hear his heart beat coming closer
to me. My only instinct is to run and hide but you can't hide for long.
I decide to consume my fear and take him on. His bloody heart beat is
ringing in my ears. Can't you hear it? I know you can. Stop the madness.
Stop it I say before it's far too late!
My legs lifted me up and carried me away. His heart beat still pounding
more louder than before. Images of my flower painted my mind only now
it was on fire. I just couldn't help but laugh at this thought. I still
hear you, Mr. Temptation, but I tell you I'm not giving in to you! Ha,
you can't harm me and my percious flower. You're nothing but a mere nobody.
Hear me scream, oh, Temptation! You can't hurt me if...
There she was laying on the ground. I knew tonight was different so
I told myself to stay inside. Nobody saw it coming. The temptation and
that blasted flower. At least there will be no more problems. Isn't that
right Mr. Thumper?
"Meow."

The flower represents the characters life and how she doesn't want change. But by the end she gives in and goes thought the changes just like everyone else.
