The Ballet Dancer
By Bellezza
darkness sleeps within her heart
but its never phased when the curtains rise
the music plays and she performs
a plastered smile to match her marble eyes
she begins slowly, but never falters
her dance of streaking personified elegance
the audience watches with awe-struck vision
gazing upon her inexplicable finesse
the notes ring a pounding
resonation
portraying her desperate
motivation
causing her impending
pulsation
leading into her vibrant
trepidation
the flawless appearance is shattered when
her self-centered secrets are exposed on stage
but no one watching takes heed to notice
she smiles helplessly, until she breaks

tenderly, secretly, this reminds me of those items i s'pose every girl ahd....those jewelry boxes that expose the proverbial tiny dancer...pirouetting to tinkling music.....always so delicate and slightly off.balance.....easily broken, easily stilled. . .. such sweet insecurity in a girl---it never leaves the woman she grows into. .. .

Heh I liked the concept behind this. Or my interpretation of it anyway. Last line drove it home perfectly.

As the piece was of a dancer, was the piece a dance itself; be it a dark dance, but the flow was choice, and I especially liked, "the notes ring a pounding resonation portraying her desperate motivation," which I believe set the whole poem into its own
