Broken Beauty
By Bellezza
laying her pale arms across her chest
poor Belle still smiles like she always did
crooked right, crooked left, barely visible
is the white beneath her crooked eyelids
she dances barefoot upon hollow ground
joyously taking in the brisk winter air
poor Belle she never did know when not to smile
broken and fragile, she hits her knees in despair
to the sky she looks, as rain begins to fall
and drop for drop it matches the marks down her face
a pang of scars ripple through her body
with her fading memories leaving her disgraced
poor Belle, she never knew how much he cared
or how he pledged 'til death do us part
she only realized her lack of beauty and grace
and the clotting scars on her feeble heart
tears tumble from his shattered cheeks
as he holds her hand beneath the moon
though stained, he sees his reflection in her smile
but disappointingly, it fades all too soon
shaking his hands in anger, he felt he never knew
how to prove to her his deep and passionate love
poor Belle, he never got to show her
how beautiful she truly was

Beautifully shattering. Oh my, you've taken the words from my lungs. This was very lovely to read. I'm not even sure what to say. The imagery you create is very elegant. Lovely lovely lovely!
