Close Time

By InsipidTouch

Vivid colors of your eyes
Catching a glimpse of the earth
Noticing the corruption
All the madness and insanity
They speak of things unheard
Stumbling with their speech
Cement capturing the weak
Every tear awakens the blood
Dripping on your blank canvas
Think for yourself
The pages turn in your mind
Stopping to read each title
But nothing is making sense
Even a window is not clear
Step outside into the air
A little girl on her swing set
The chains about to break
Face of innocence
Just like your porcelain doll
Beautiful but easily hurt
Sky turns death black
Thunder rolling in to meet you
Sprint inside for safety
Or stay and fight the world.
