The Day That I Return
By Spiritus_Frumenti
The day that I return,
With a different conscience
One that has not died, now that it wishes to kill
With a clenched fist I will roam the earth
Trading a pen for a knife
and a heart for a piece of stone
The day that I return,
Tears will burn right through the soul
Clouds will incinerate mountains
Emerging winds made of hot ashes
will consume birds that will not make it south
that year
The day that I return,
God will collapse unto the Sun
Searing in what has existed in humanity all along
Purposely creating man to share misery
Never knowing that our pain would soon envelop His own
The day that I return,
It will all be silent
I will be moving through time,
Towering matter and minds,
With a clenched fist I will roam this contemptuous earth
Trading a pen for a knife
And a heart for a cold piece of stone...

The day you return, I will remember these words. Your hands seem so clean to be cupped with such remarkably fulfilling sin.

Don't hesitate with that knife, so long as I can taste the seething burn.
