Our Lullaby

By wandering druid

Open your eyes
little child, i plead
See a world of destruction
Look into the face
Of humanity's greed
And listen to my instructions

Speak not at all
of what you believe
Truth is no longer prized here
Do not let on
of what you percieve
Independent opinions are feared

They'll tell you to conform
to stereotypical views
And to try your hardest not to make waves
Now you cannot your
own destiny choose
'lest you wish for an early grave

Sweet child you shall
Never know freedom again
Why you won't i can no longer say
Welcome dear child to
the prelude to the end
In a world that accepts but one way...

I wrote this when I was holding my beautiful baby cousin.

Brutal. I like to hope that the world will not look so bleak for them as it looks for us and that they can enjoy choosing their own destination. You never know, it could happen.

Our world seems to have come to a standstill - a very narrow perspective. However, fear not - your cousin's world, just like ours, can be changed ... with just a thought. :) Very nice rhythm to this one - keep up the good work ~Syn.Dark/L
