Revolver From The Barrel
By Lotophagi
From the barrel
shooting down the intervention
stylised on the conventions of tension
double hold revolver
one
raise to eye height
two
focus and aim steadily
three
pull back safety lock
one
position finger lightly on trigger
two
gently squeeze lovingly
three
hold still whilst relaying play to mind
one
smile tenderly at targeted mark
two
lower revolver and slide into holster
three
Nirvana
Sinking beneath your skin
The scenario is set
the scene splattered with shattered shards
sinfully sold to salvation
smoke scatters across the thick, night air
in stringent circles, filtering particles of ash
clash of cruelty
dash of deceit / destruction / devastation
flash of fear;
all the things we hold so dear.
Nihilism
Seeping through your mind
Black cat running across my path
showing white belly
peeling flesh and fur
draped in cloth
stalker
we run again.
Omens shouting down
the long, winding road of psychosis
physically stating the faltering mind
deception fouling eyes losing focus annihilate
highlight it and repeat.
Now you see the truth
from trauma infiltrating transcendence
initiating imitation of tainted tramps.
Nelophobia
Seething upon your glassy barriers
Measure of the deterioration of society
sought in a universe
misconstrued chaos and disorder
now measured entropy
seeking uniformity
conforming to an inert state
in erratic tendencies
losing the message sent
from the perimeters in time, space and movement
matter pulsing with heaving motion
nausea generating the kinetic energetic expulsion
levitating particles to wondrous planes
existence left for evolution.
Necrosis
Soaking through your body
Monophobia stretching with the shadows
drowning out the light to vanquish hope
this dread is spread over face
a world lapsing in subsistence
scepticism the only drug to subdue
paranoia of you staying
fear of you leaving.
Necropolis
Seating the ancient entombed
Lethargy on Thursday
Paranoia on Friday
Humour on Saturday
Pain on Sunday
Anxiety on Monday
Panic on Tuesday
Death on Wednesday
Say good-bye sweetheart
nothing left to keep
no-one staying to love.
Say good-bye.

'the scene splattered with shattered shards/peeling flesh and fur/existence left for evolution...' Wonderfully written & structured; great use of aliteration. Philosophies & rhythms soaked with the invisible sounds of shredded Skinny Puppy spliced beneath
