today i took a walk...

By Sin

i took a walk today
just to clear my clouded mind
to get away
from the harsh lights
that burned my eyes
to find a moments peace
amid the chaos of turbulent thoughts
but my troubles followed me
so i walked
as fast and as far
as my feeble legs could carry me
till the light
was no more than a glimmer
a memory

and there i stood
on legs that shook
staring into the dark
into the blissful nothingness
or maybe
the vastness of everything

and i stood
until my legs could no longer hold me
and my voice was hoarse
from screaming dreams into the wind
with only the trees
to bare witness to my pain

and i thought
if i stayed here would time heal my wounds?
give me some semblance of whole
or just forget that i ever was?

so i sat there
till time trickled by
not by hours or minutes
but by each passing leaf

and i sat there still
as my ghosts taunted me with memories
and i swear the trees wept with me
till we were nothing more than dust
and the wind carried me away
with all my dead and dying dreams

I taken that walk many times. Very painful as this really showed the pain just jumping out of this. I don't think I have ever seen you written a bad poem. -Dan

God, I felt this so deeply.. especially the first verse. that desperation for escapism, a retreat.. but you know fundamentally it won't solve anything..
