Whispers In My Head

By darkness_descends

Little Tommy talks to himself
Because no one hears the voices he hears
Always taunting him
Making him cry
Tears of confusion and fear
He asks his mom
"Who whispers in my head?"
Tommy is told
"That's not funny dear"
She doesn't recongnize his fear
Or his cries for help
At night when he's alone in his room
The voices continue
"Go ahead Tommy play with the blade"
But I don't want to
"DO IT TOMMY!
No one likes you
They won't care."
The next morning comes
Tommy asks his mom
Why won't the bad man be quiet?
What does he want from me?
"Tommy I told you that's not funny?"
He goes through the day
Mumbling under his breath
While everyone points and laughs
Once again it's time for bed
And the voices return
Torturing him all night
Bringing tears to the edge of his eyes
Morning comes and Mom goes to wake Tommy
He lay motionless on the floor
His skin torn to shreds
Written on the wall
Are the words
GO AWAY
I AM NOT
LEAVE ME ALONE
WHY ME?
STOP MAKING ME CRY
WHO WHISPERS IN MY HEAD?
All written in blood
Mom doesn't understand
She didn't hear what Tommy heard
"Tommy, Tommy do you hear me?
You're pathetic,
A waste of a life,
Go ahead Tommy end it all,
Slice away Tommy,
No one will mis you"
All mom can do is cry
And realize she didn't listen to the cries for help
Little Tommy was only ten.
