Fight Fire with Water

Fighting fire with fire...
Just makes a bigger fire!
But we can choose to fight fire with water.
For nobodies perfect...
Not even apparently Jesus Christ.
For his followers just made it possible in 2004
for George W. Bush to get re-elected!
Still if we continue to make others wrong...
Then soon nobody will be able to get along.
So, we must mediate...
And pour love on hate!
For pouring love on hate...
Is like pouring water on fire.
For we are all guilty at times of calling for the wrath...
But where is the mercy found...
If it is not found in me?
And although fires...
They come and go.
Here is where I stand...
For peace in the face of war.
For mercy in the face of cruelty.
For unity in the face of division.
For humanity in the face of insanity.
For non-violence in the face of violence.
Like Martin Luther King Jr. and Mahatma Gandhi...
To fight fire with water...
And pour love on hate!
