Death Comes To Us All

By Sleepwalker

His eyes are hidden within his cloak,
a scythe is ready at hand.
One day you'll meet him face to face,
your life he will demand.

The hairs will stand up on your neck.
You're frozen from the fear.
You know your time is drawing nigh,
the end is all too clear.

He has many different names,
you dare not speak a one.
For just the whisper from your breath
might be your setting sun.

He knows your name and where you live,
He leers with craving eyes.
His lust for souls is infinite,
and yours is his next prize.

He lurks in shadows remaining unseen,
just waiting to play his role;
To sling his blade with lethal aim,
the bell of your life will toll.

When it's your turn, he'll be there
with his steel about to fall,
You can't run, and you can't hide
for death comes to us all.
