A Desired Disease

By physicalgraffiti

"Love," a word that tastes sweeter than mortality.
My Brain,
screams the syllable
into my ears,
my ears yell,
back at my brain,
begging it to
send the message to my throat.
my throat tightens,
my ears ring,
my thoughts argue.
a pain shoots through
my heart....or my brain.
they become one and the same.
the pain becomes a weakness,
and migrates to my knees.
the weakness morphs into a numbness,
which attacks my toes.
my entire body is under seige.
all because of a sweet taste.
it travels up my neck.
i swallow down...
afraid of speaking,
bite my lip.
Jaws are tingling.
mouth is watering,
the regurgitation of a treat,
is sometimes not as sweet.
but as it falls out of my mouth,
-it
-still
-tastes
-sweeter
-than
-life.
