My bowl of ashes

By ashottothetemple

You let me into your home
Allowed me to sleep quietly
On your cold hard floor
It mirrors your image
Sleek, but empty you live
While everynight I sleep
Out on your floor mat
Shaking firecly and awaiting you
Brilliant scratches cover my face
From your cats pushing me away

But still I wait for you
I'd wait until I have taken my last breath
Just to be held for one more night
It's all I'll ever ask from you
I still remember your freezing touch on a hot afternoon

I like the last stanza the best. It reallly pulls the peice together. It's an amazing piece regardless. You can really feel the sorrow and the pain, but also the toxic love in this. Excellent. Brava!!

dammit - i like the same line. >:) Must be great! I also like the paradox of the closing, and the image it portrays. Fine write. :)
