Fade

By Liath

Have we come up on our end of days?

Have we lived all that's to be seen?

As the tether quickly frays

And only ibe desire I have left seems keen

Seeking those adrenaline-driven releases

Daily depression; My downfall

Choke; As my soul is torn into pieces

I blink; Eyes burning from the menthol

Felt the blood run from my nose

Watched it collect on my shirt

Startled as the hair on the back of my neck rose

Losing grip; I engage in a slack-jawed kiss with the dirt

Lackadaisically leaning on my lust for love

Reminiscing; Careful not to make her miscontrue

She was indeed sent from up above

Wondering if our hearts will ever again rendezvous

By the way that you have me feeling

I would die if you died

The thought of having you back in arms has my head reeling

To the air flies all these pleas I've cried

Until the day is ours again at last
