paranoid

By mysticventures

Tis simple paranoia - I think

No, not to the extreme

Nobody is trying to kill me

And I never look over my shoulder

Its more subtle than that

Just a word, a look, a laugh, a whisper

Are they talking about me?

Am I being transferred?

- Fired?

- Set up?

- For what? Why me?

Oh god - have I slipped up somewhere?

Something in thought, or word or deed?

What is it in me -

That sets this clock to ticking?

Whatever it is, it has always been there

Lying dormant for a time

Then something sets it off

And here I go again -

The worry, the fret, the panic

And usually -

Just before I go over the edge

Something happens to confirm what I'd thought all along

It was nothing really

I was just being paraniod!
