musings

By GirlintheBox

*Another one of those works from my tender 12th year*

everyday i watch as
life passes me by
i grasp a hold
it slips through my fingers
it is carried away by the wind

my hopes cannot crash
there's none here to do so
they've already been shattered
and are now mere
memories

memories
it's all i have
all i wish to forget
they consume me
detatch me from
reality

reality
why would anyone want to be
attatched
to an endless void of
insignificance

why can't i be the same
as all the other
mindless
sickingly happy
stereotypical

*individuals*

instead i am
trapped away
different
alone

im in a box
with chains and locks
i can't escape
nobody can enter

i am destined to remain alone
forever
alone

well done, and who wants to be one of those stereotypical happy folk, if it means being a slave, following the trends and such like a sheep.

I like this piece a lot. I think people who write on this level at such a young age are old souls. Parts of me remember what it was like to feel like this--very nice, clear expression
