Fade Away

By GirlintheBox

An overwhelming feeling consuming my soul
Is one I'm unable to grasp from you
I wish to cry out but will lose if I do so
So I silently watch you fade away
It's impossible to win either way I go
I know I will lose you no matter my choice
My entire being, my entire soul
Wishes that you could feel my pain
Maybe then I would earn your sympathy
I would do so to keep you closer to me
These feelings I've tried to keep at bay
Break the lock on the door they are hidden behind
One day I pray when the lock breaks again
That you would be standing behind that door
But wishful thinking only leads to sorrow
A burden for now I cannot bear
So slowly, continuously, a small part of me dies
A void irreplacable saved solely for you
While I silently watch you fade away
Defeated by despair, as you fade away

These are all fantastic! My favourite line out of three poems worth of great lines is "The guilt you should feel is weighing me down". Look forward to reading more of yours in the future. Ciao, T/S Scholar
