If You're Reading This (Suicide Note)

If you're reading this
Then I am laying on the floor
Atop the blood stained carpet
Wrists wide open
Neck cut through
Head nearly severed
A rare smile gracing my face
My knife dropped by my side
Sorry I am not
That I committed the cowardly act of suicide
Nor that I gave no signs
No warnings
No cries for help that I didn't want
Not even a scream as my knife sunk in
Only an insane laugh
That couldn't be heard
My only regrets are
That I have caused my family
And my love
Pain that will take time to heal
That my actions bring forth tears
Anguished screams
And broken, disappointed hearts
That I didn't do it sooner
To lessen the pain of a prolonged life
Which should have expired long ago

I ask that tears cease
That smiles overtake saddened faces
And pain be replaced by happiness
For I am now where I have always wanted to be

My last requests are these
That all my worldly possesions
All existing photographs
And anything carrying even the most obscure reminders of me
Be gathered
Burned
Destroyed
Erased
That the mere memory of my pitiful existence
Be permanently forgotten
That my so called life
In essence never happened.
