Surrender

By Lexicon

At one point the world is such a beautiful thing to behold,
But there are times when I truly feel worthless and alone,
No matter what I am told.

These moments of unbearable woe foreshadow dark days ahead,
The dreariness of my own blind fists that pound into my head.

One moment I am given a glimspe of pure, true, beatitude,
Juxtaposition to the apparition of my want and will, subdued.

I am confused by what I see and what this prompts me to feel,
Like Jekyll and Hide my emotions will soon collide, and none of them will remain real.

But when I am sure I cannot take it any longer, in this world of sadness and somber,

When the caged bird no longer sings, I will borrow the dark angel wings.

I will surrender to serene splendor,
When too heavily imbued with shadow is the morrow,
I will adamently abstain, and give back the pain
Of hate and anger that is borrowed.
