Ra

By Lexicon

In a dream I met the sun,
whose arrogance far exceeded his glow.

His initial threat was to seethe my soul, his claim,
I belonged where the atmosphere was low.

And try as I might to procure his countenance, to transcend the radiation of his unyeilding disdain.

The painful sear of his unturned ear made it soon apparent that his good graces would not be gained.

Try as I may, I turned away, thus began my journey away from the sun,

But not before looking back to behold the brilliiance and beauty undone.

So you see, I have met the sun, that, far away seems so
resplendent
But do not be fooled by this deceiving tool, for just
as I, he too, is dependent.

I hide my pain behind the guise of a smile,
and he,

that of 93,000,000 miles.
