Misfit

By Syn

Carry me beyond
Why won't you lend me a hand
Make me understand
Just where I belong

The fate of the chosen
Will fall at His hand
But I am a nomad
Bound and broken

This life is overrated
When hell seeks my inner thoughts
Searching for an answer I lose myself
in the happiness I had...well I thought.

They talk about redemption
Only the saved will be free
But what is salvation really?
More than a fixed intention

And I laughed at their reasons
Doubting the "truth" that they speak
And I continue to search and seek
Glorified Religion...I call it suicide season

This life is overrated
When hell seeks my inner thoughts
Searching for an answer I lose myself
in the happiness I had...Well I thought.

So I sit and I die, a little more each day
Becoming further away from the "way"
And perhaps I will never know what is meant of glory and happiness
I wasn't one of the chosen, just a misfit in distress.

I admire your position, your reasoning, the manifestation of it through poetry. Last 3 stanzas, my favorite.
