A Ghost Walking

By Midnight Shadow

I walk across the ground,
Yet my feet do not touch.
You look straight at me,
But you do not see me.
I cry beside a lake,
My tears never hit the water.
I cry out in fear to you,
The wind refuses to carry my call.
My hand reaches out for you,
Yet your skin offers no resistance.
Cold suddenly as you sense my presence,
I shake my head sadly as you shrink back in fear.
I move away, sad and alone.
Running outside, I stop for nothing.
Standing in the pouring rain shivering,
Yet I am warm and dry.
Why am I being treated like this?
It's almost as if I'm a ghost.
