Withering

By knightmirror

whimpering flows on waves
of wind
causing my eyes to tear up
with dirt
turning to mud,blinding me
in pity
kind/nestles
in my sight like a thorn in
my side
inside this wilted rose that's
dying from
lack of compassion i accept
from noone
not even myself

how am i to grow if i don't allow
myslef to?
how am i to allow myself if i
am you?

put two and two together

screaming skims sining seas
of sorrow
drowning me withinspite of
waking smiles
that hide be/hindsight 20/20
ways go
forward
travelling back in/tonight
as beams
stream down from the heavens
clouds that
rain bitterness upon souls of
mischief
not helping

it's said beauty is in the eye of the beholder
then who's eye is this?

"be/hindsight": that's awesome! please accept my petty envy. *smiles* ..and i agree with everyone who's already remarked on the excellence of the ending.

This made my heart ache, yet I can't fully explain why.feelings you hate effect the way you see things, and it stays with you niggling indeed like a thorn in your side.the last two lines were devastating. Beautiful, refined work I love it. -L
