To Hopelessness

By steuss

I’ve got empty dreams,
Hopes that have died in time,
Sands fallen to water,
Dissolved in hopelessness.

The windows cloud,
Rain falls from heavens,
And skies are empty,
Billowing demons.

I’ve found worthless trinkets,
Shining in my carpets,
The sun unseen for hours,
And love dropped from my shell.

To keep you in my dreams,
I’ve tried every way,
The paths to you are broken,
Tied off by solitude.

But the hope of return,
Flares brighter each day,
The hollow place you left,
Isn’t filling like it should.

The trinkets broken,
The pictures frayed,
The feelings only memories,
And the love fadeing...

Opening my eyes to sleep
Released the demons.
The skies bleed my pains,
And i’ve broken my hopes.

What could be is done,
What would have been:
Whispers on the wind,
And what will be a shadow,
Of the possiblities.

Emptiness reigns,
Hopelessness is air,
And my dreams, are shattered,
On believing.
