I still scream

By Jaded Jezzabelle

I scream
as each tear I cry
falls thousands of miles away from you
as I sleep dreamless sleep
and
you are not here
to hold me
or console me

I scream
as the world swings out of control
around me
not caring
not even feeling
numb
and
debilitated

I scream
as this cold society
deems us unacceptable
.
.
.
You were my moonlight
my hopes
and
my fears
you were
the other half of myself
.
.
.
This world has become
a crystal palace
each person a mirror
into hell
.
.
.
Will we ever gaze
at the stars again
and
tell each other
our dreams
.
.
.
Will you ever
drown in my hair again
as we cry the winds
to sleep
.
.
.
Will you ever
get lost in my eyes again
as you see the truth
of the love
I have
for you
.
.
.
Would you
allow me to love you
despite everything
despite this fucked up world
despite yourself
.
.
.
Would you
sit quietly by my side
as
I scream
only to remind myself
that
I'm still alive
yet
you
have
moved
on
.
.
