Need For Speed...a drug story

By Jaded Jezzabelle

I took a detour
and got turned around
looking for a cure
for my affliction

Was lost until I found
this devine addiction

I was young and insecure
when I began this romance
Doing lines all the time
it was fun getting spun
So we aspired to aways be wired

No one could predict
that our dance would inflict
a high that declines
as it defines us
and confines us

Time passes by years they fly
as we identify
with a culture filled with vultures

Manipulated by meth
feels like I can't catch my breath
was easily impressed
nothing exceeds like excess

We fit the stereo type
desired to be admired
yet we remain uninspired
frozen by fear and
insincere

Caught up in the hype
we began to hit the pipe
meth smokes smooth
it invokes
a peaceful numbness
with a couple of tokes

Awake and restlessly aware
that our atmosphere
is fake
into nothing we stare

Our lives become meaningless
in our slumberless
enviorment
where the only requirment is to express
and confess
our need for
speed

"a high that declines as it defines and confines us" i especially like that line, but the whole thing is great. i feel this one, all the words are perfectly put together.

This is so true for anyone who has ever fallen in love with meth, you just reminded me why I'm clean. Wonderfully written.
