Serial Killer

By Mr King

Christ Vice is a fire-starter like Prodigy!
I hope by the end of this poem...
You're not mad at me.

But all I have to do is strike a match in this tinderbox, and the whole f--kin' country would go
up in flames...
And hell would reclaim all of its biggest names!

This is not for the purpose of gratuitous violence nor just to get ratings, but...
If I were a serial killer...
I'd kill all of the biggest "stars" who perpetuate devil philosophies in the minds of our children.

So much for the failed parental advisory system...
I'd kill Howard Stern!
I'd kill Jerry Springer!
I'd kill Ozzy Osbourne!
I'd kill Marilyn Manson!
I'd kill the "Dogg Father" Snoop Doggy Dogg!
I'd kill the "Original Gangster" / "Cop Killer" Ice-T!
And I'd kill Eazy-E, but HIV already did that for me!

I'd kill all of what was N.W.A....
Like Ice Cube, Dr. Dre, and M.C. Ren!
And I'd f--kin' kill Eminem!

(Or perhaps, better yet... I'd kill the producers and true financial profiteers behind these guys.)

I'd do it for real, but that would be murder...
So, I'll just write about it with my pen, and attempt a mass collective character assassination.

Oh yeah...
A while ago, I would have also killed Luke Skyyywalker and the 2 Live Crew!
Perhaps there is some insane extreme fanatic out there?
Who will do what I won't do!

And if you ask me if I'm stooping too low you see...
Then I?d say that I'm just an artist who wants to be free!

Maybe I should have exercised a little more social responsibility...
But then again...
I wouldn't be the first person trying to gain some kind of fame by stirring up controversy!

Some may call this poem artistic suicide...
But really it is just Poetic Justice!

And if you want to kill me, Christ Vice, for what I say...
First, realize that only God can stop me...
And then understand also that it may be too late you see?

Because like 2pac Makaveli...
I may already be resting in peace!

I love how spot on this is about our media-consumed society. I especially like the line about the "stars" perpetuating devil philosophies in the minds of our children. Well done sir!

Also, I just want to make it 100% clear that I stand for non-violence in the traditions of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Gandhi... in art, I believe in full self-expression however... in whatever way 1 sees right for 1self... PEACE2U

It seems to shallow to be taken serius standing alone. It seems like there has to be a build up for something like this. Or a grand philosophy included.

Good point... the build up is all the rest of my poetry and a grand philosophy is indeed included... 1

Otherwise I cant think of anything but some of the names included in this. And there work. That is an achievement in itself, becouse that is a clear point that is easy to understand.

Kill back and forth, and clap your hands while doing it in "crap rap" style. So yea I do that myself, but I wont defend that becouse its just crap hehe I dunno is there more behind this? Tiger

Also, to darkbride... thank you again sincerely for your thoughtful feedback... but with regards to the "cold cruel world" we live in... building community makes a difference and the power is in our hands my dear friend... Christ Vice loves you! Always!

Yes, Alluring Descent_darkbride... I agree with you... parents or the one parent must take responsibility and do all they can... but we must, as caring and aware members of humanity, work towards assisting the youth...

But then again it's not up to you to decide what is suitable for children. In some ways, sure, they shouldn't be allowed to view/hear these things, in other ways, it might be totally ok. One person's opinion should not be forced upon the world.

As members of the human race, it is up to us to speak out and work for solutions for the children... it is up to whomever is aware enough to know that they can choose that and have that ability!!! We can do it! We are the village! 1LOVE 1PEOPLE 1PEACE

Yes, those who "perpetuate devil philosophies" such as the "gangsta, player, fuck all the hos!" mentality etc... this is the reason I "kill" them in my art and throw their "artistic souls" into the Lake of Fire I created!

  • A former member wrote: that is why I believe that it's the parents job to teach the children what is right and wrong. You can't shelter a child from seeing or hearing this kind of stuff so I believe knowledge is the answer.

  • A former member wrote: It's my belief that this is a cold cruel world and not many people really give a damn about what the youth/children are growing up as. That's why I hate to see so many children brought in this world with ignorant parents and surrounded by hate.

  • A former member wrote: You say it take a village to raise a child but in America...that's hardly conceivable. You have single and even both parents struggling by themselves without any help from friends, neighbors, or family to raise their children.

  • A former member wrote: I can relate to this all too well; but maybe on a different kind of level... politicians would be the first, then media anchors, then entertainment; the beast resides on many levels. much love

Second, in my mind, an attack on art with art in not an attack on art... it is an opening for evolution and distinction between various spaces... for example, what I do is different than attacking art with politics or censorship or religion.

Fourth, artists do affect children's thinking... I am an elementary school substitute teacher in grades K-5 in Central LA and the culture is intertwined with the artists, e.g. the rappers... still its like the chicken and the egg...
