My River

By Moodswing

Floating on my river
The one that you can't cross
My current always was to strong for you
A pity you never drowned
Fear keeping your feet planted along the banks

You, standing on my shore
My waters pulling at the edge
Caressing the soil beneath you, one particle away
Just out of reach
Always playing it safe, a bore

Admiring my curves
The waves that lull you
Reflecting the warm light of soothing deceit
Funny how you fall
Where is your precious shore now?

Filling your mouth
Drowning all the beautiful lies
Never did you think you would lose to me
Exciting how you scream
Consequence hanging from your ankles as you sink

Floating on my river
The one that I can cross
My current always forging new paths
A pity I float alone
Maybe one day you will walk my banks
