Winter Solstice

By Spiritus_Frumenti

It is a much sadder day,
Passed the time we laid
Happy with each other’s touch
When our breath became one
And our hearts pulsed the same
-
It is a much darker place,
After the fiery lust had died
And the blaze of passion,
That once consumed my head
Now is wrapped in cold sheets of hate
-
It is a much lonelier life,
When you have seen the stars
Felt joy from having to breathe
In the presence of the Gods,
To now remain amorphous
In your mind, and remember,
Under a graying sky
And a chilling air,
Suggesting a close December...

This caught my eye for it's name and my nastalgic ways...Many times I click on a poem by random chance leaving annoyed at my wasted time. I'm very happy I read this...it is beautiful, and holds such perfect form. Thank you for sharing.
