My Demons

By Elizabeth kaczocha

This life is sending me spiraling down.
So far down that I no longer see the light.
Only darkness.
I cringe from the imagined beasts that await me in the dark.
I feel them clawing me, dragging me down even further.
But when I look at myself I see no marks, no scratches.
Nothing but my own pale skin.
What kind of demons live in this darkness?
Are they demons at all?
Maybe they are like me, just reaching for another person to help save them from the darkness.
How do we survive a darkness this dark?
I wish to claw my way out, but which way is up?
I'm lost and alone in this pitch blackness.
My voice tries to call out but the darkness steals my breath.
I am sinking further into the darkness, wrapped in the hate and anger that is you.
I am afraid I am sinking so deeply that I may never see the light again.
Won't you help me get back to the light, and destroy this darkness I'm in?

I like the images you paint here, I also like how you question if the deomons are just looking for help them selves. makes me think. remember demons can not harm unless given permission and are meant to feed off our negative energies.
