D4// Millennial Melanchony

By Shikiryu

Hard Times create Strong Men,
I weep for my ancestors.
Torn from home,
degraded,
denied their humanity.
I admire their strength
in hard times.
their hope,
perseverance,
their tenacity.
They were Strong Men.

Strong Men create Good Times,
I weep for Dr. King,
thankful for his strength.
I feel pride for our forefathers who fought,
for,
our equality and humanity.
These are relatively Good Times.

Good Times create Weak Men,
I weep for myself,
and my brothers,
lost in this relative
New World.
Knowledge is power,
Knowledge is terror,
what is and isn't.
We can create dreams,
Do we dream?
What is true?
Our fathers fought for this paralyzing freedom,
from the act.
These are Good Times.
We, undeserving, are Weak Men.

Weak Men create Hard Times.
I weep for my sons,
Unborn, they're predestined for strength.
Direction is power,
We'll shackle them with our choices,
weak choices,
relative choices,
Strings nonetheless.
I pray they endure,
find themselves on the stage.
Ars Vivendi.
Be strong in memory of your fathers,
Strong Men create Good Times.
